This new service geno2pheno[mutext] is "Yet Another Alignment Tool". The algorithm is based on the local and global alignment of Smith-Waterman and Needleman-Wunsch. The software uses Eugen Schülter's implementation of his standalone MutExt program, which can be downloaded for Windows at
http://www.schuelter-gm.de/download.html
MutExt is used in all other g2p prediction services.
Under "Settings" one can choose a reference sequence out of a set of HIV, HBV, HCV anf Flavi viruses or upload a special reference sequence manually.
Default reference is the HIV1 Protease/Reverse Transcriptase of HXB2
